For me, yoga has continued to find deeper and deeper levels of calm, balance, clarity and grounding through dedicated practice.

My first experience of yoga was in 1987 with my father, and from there, my love for yoga blossomed. Throughout my life, yoga practices were integrated, and it was around ten years ago when I started travelling to many spots around Australia to search for a deeper connection to my daily practice. Then my journey into the philosophies of yoga began; this brought me toward an authentic experience of the yoga lifestyle, leading me into dedicated practices twice a day for the past two years. I must say, it has been quite the journey in overcoming obstacles, finding newfound confidence and joy, as well as understanding my true nature.

For many years I was searching for more in health and wellbeing, studying in health, nutrition, and I’ll complete my Bachelors of Complementary Medicine in November. I also found myself exploring many styles of yoga on a personal path of health and wellbeing. Still, it wasn’t until I connected with Beverly from Healing Heart Yoga that everything fell into place. I was able to embody my true passion, through the philosophies and practices of yoga, combined with the commitment to a true sense of wellbeing and helping people along their path.

The authenticity of the teachings passed down from Krishnamacharya, and Desikachar resonated with me and is what keeps me coming back to the mat, along with the calm, balance and joy it brings me daily, I look to extend and share these principles of the practice through a balance between strength, flexibility with a connection to the breath and an internal sense of feeling, rather than thinking.
